Vivek Kundra Proposes Creative Solutions to Tech Sector Topics

Decreed by President Barack Obama as the first Federal CIO in the land, Vivek Kundra is reaching to freshen up IT in the public sector. His other efforts in IT earned him recognition from InfoWorld as the 2008 IT Executive of the Year and he was recently named Chief of the Year by Information Week. With past expertise as Chief Technology Officer for the District of Columbia, Vivek Kundra has the know how to meet the Information Technology challenges that he now has before him.

Vivek Kundra works to ensure other Chief Information Officers of Federal government sectors have agendas that boost open government while furthering the progressive use of technology. His hope is to embrace technological advances to advance efficient government operations while making economical use of taxpayer money. He has garnered acknowledgment for his leadership in public safety communications, as well as cyber security and Information Technology portfolio management. His experience includes technology and public policy expertise in the private sector and academia.

He considers cloud-based services an attractive alternative. Cloud-based services can rapidly create and supply development platforms. They are also ideal for sharing data, including sharing photographs and videos. He believes the Federal government needs an streamlined platform such as this, and that the Federal government should be able to host space on the Internet. This is so American citizens can engage in negotiation with one another for solutions to social problems.

Vivek Kundra is now applying his expertise to the important tasks at hand as Federal CIO. The expertise earned during his time as Chief Technology Officer for Washington, D.C. is contributing to the initiatives he is executing as part of President Obama’s administration. He wants the government’s Information Technology efforts applying private sector platforms that are imperative to streamlined sharing of information.
